Almost Halloween

So the end of October is almost here. Wow, how time has been flying by! So much has happened since the last post and I don't even know where to begin. We are still waiting for word from the bank regarding the sale...they rejected the first buyers' offer because it was $5,000 less than the appraised value. Seriously?!?!? #($*&(#$% $5,000.00? Whatever! So they walked away and cancelled their offer. Thanks to the hard work of our realtor, we had a second offer the next day and that was for $10,000 over the appraisal value, so we have hopes. Apparently their system had some red flags on our account and immediately decline it..they are trying to work out the kinks to get our file back on track. Either way, we are hoping to have word before the end of this month.
I'm having surgery next Thursday, November 5th and for privacy I'm not stating what for. It will be a 1-2 hour surgery in outpatient, so I'll go home the same day. I'm a little nervous, only because I've never had surgery before, let alone broken a single bone (knock on wood) Of course my parents and in-laws asking "How you doing", "Nervous yet" isn't helping. I'll post afterwards how the surgery went and I am sure it'll go just fine. :)

Layouts and Babies

I was looking at my blog and others' as well, and realized theirs are sooo good! They have all kinds of backgrounds and fonts and options. I guess I need to take the time to make it better and updated. :) Most likely I won't.

I finally brought in a trio picture frame for my office at work--I know, I know it's been seven months and no pictures! So I printed these off and put in my frames: The top left one is our niece, Ava who is 3 1/2 and a spitting image of her mom and dad! She is so outgoing and full of fire! Watch out boys, she's a handful! The right is Ava's sister, Campbell who is 10 months. She is just like her dad---carefree and just goes with the flow. No one can make Campbell light up and laugh like Ava. They are hilarious together!
Of course, whenever we spend time with them it makes us long for our own kids and everyone asks, "So when are you having kids?" There is nothing I hate more than that question. It's none of their business! We'll have kids when we have kids. Especially for couples who have been trying for months or even years, and are seeking fertility treatment, and are constantly reminded that they don't have kids. Not every couple will have kids. So, if you see a married couple, or you have friends that are married. Don't ask when they are having kids as they will most likely be annoyed by it.

That long?

Wow, hard to believe it's been so long since my last post! It seems like just last week. Things have been chaotic between good news and bad news and no news at all. Atleast we got one thing checked off our list--the tenants have been formally evicted. They were locked out by the Sherriffs last week. Thank god! Now, on to that condo! Our realtor is going over this week and will assess the damages and condition it's in. I hope it's not too bad as we're at the point where we aren't spending a dime on the place.
More cheerful news: Amy and Eric were in town this past Labor Day weekend. Amy and I spent the entire day together Saturday talking and catching up. It was great to have that girl time. Looking back, I wonder what we talked about for sooo long! It was awesome. We then all met up with some of their friends whom we met at their wedding last year, at German bar in Seattle. They served beer in boots. When the beer starts to get low, you have to turn it while drinking, otherwise the bubbles from the toe will come up and woosh! So does the beer. Since I'm not a beer drinker, I was trying the beer. Of course, on our second boot, and second time around, it wooshes up on Amy. Me being a dimwit isn't paying attention and I go to get a drink. Woosh! It wasn't that bad..just a little dribble down my chin :)

Rainy days and MRI's...

I can't believe it's been a few weeks already since my last post. I guess I've got to pick up on the bloggin'! It's already well into the second week of August. The heat wave is over, and the rain/stormy weather begins. I actually enjoy the overcast and stormy days. I missed those dearly when living in So. Cal. Soon we'll be able to have warm fires at night. Oooo....I can't wait!
What's been happening so far? I've been getting Vertigo, and finally when I had the last one I went to the doctor right away. They did bloodwork (all came back normal) and had me do an MRI the following morning, which also came back normal. Let me tell you--if you ever have to have an MRI done, you better not be claustrophobic! I figured I would be fine and as soon as the tube started coming over, I started freaking out a little. I just closed my eyes right away and the music started. Thank god I had music to listen to and could hear it! That machine was sooo loud! The tech asked what music I liked, and of course said Country. It was mainly Kenny Chesney that played, but hey, that was perfectly fine with me. I haven't had any spells since then, so we pretty much have no idea what's causing them. Trevor and I have a couple thoughts...perhaps I'm missing a vitamin or nutrient that the diet is not giving me, or it's something I am eating. I thought maybe it's String Cheese. I know, weird! Since my last one, I have not eaten any string cheese and have been fine so far. My mom asked if I was preggers...nope, sorry!
Ok, that's enough for now. Back to work!

July's almost gone?!!?!

Wow, July is almost gone already?!?! Seems like we just celebrated the 4th. How quickly time flies. All is moving along with us. I weighed myself last Friday and I'm down 10.2 pounds. :) Woot woot! It'll be interesting to see what the weigh-in is this week...we went to Tri-Cities this past weekend, and for the most part I was good. We did stop at McD's for lunch and I had a grilled chicken sandwich with only the top part of the whole wheat bun, and a small yogurt parfait. Even though the yogurt is supposed to be healthy, I think they use regular vanilla not low-fat or non-fat. Either way, that's much healthier than eating a Quarter-Pounder and fries!!!
We received a letter from our bank regarding the short sale offer, and they just responded today that they need some financial information from the past two years. We are hoping and praying it all goes well and in our favor and we can finally be done with this condo! It would be so nice to be able to buy a place here, especially now when the prices for new homes are down-right dirt cheap! I just passed a new development on my way home yesterday, and their brand new houses are starting from $269K! What a steal! Allrighty, back to work.

Pondering thoughts

Hard to believe it's been a week already since my very first post! We started watching Weeds last week and have been hooked. It's hilarious, provoking, and all out entertaining. The only pain is waiting for the DVD's to arrive in the mail, then after we watch them taking them to Blockbuster to exchange for the next ones. There's a few days in between, but gives us a break. Let's see...still doing the no-carb and have lost 7.5 pounds as of Sunday. That's good news! Atleast I know something's happening as a result of my hard work and no bread :). I decided to treat my self to a pedicure when I reach 20 pounds. Might be a few weeks. The last time I had a pedicure was when I took my mom for her birthday last year...so I'd say it's long over due. I've never been a peculiar one that must have pedicures every so often. What's the point? Unless you're wearing flip flops every single day, who's going to see your toes. Besides, we have better things to spend money on.
I started reading this book that one of my co-workers was reading...Relative Discomfort, Surviving the Family. It is absolutely hilarious, and recommend it for everyone who has a crazy family and relatives. More later!

My First One

So I decided after many years of reading everyone's blogs to start one of my own. I guess I was hesitant because I had no idea what I would write about that could possibly be interesting. So, what's the latest...I am waiting to hear back from our lawyer regarding the condo and I'm on day three of no carbs. It's been going well so far...no immediate cravings for bread (my worst vice). Today I was rather hungry it seemed like, so I just ate a couple string cheeses and popped a piece of gum. Then a little while later ate lunch, which was leftover from last night. Spicy grilled chicken and bell peppers, yum yum!
